Impacted by Death Row or Incarceration of a loved one

If you have a loved one currently on Death Row or incarcerated, there is so much pain and mixed emotions you may be experiencing. There may be times you cannot openly grieve the pain you’re experiencing due to shame, stigma, or needing to be the strong one. It's difficult to have a family member on death row. It is tragic to lose a family member to execution. There may be times when you feel like no one can relate to your emotions or how this experience has affected you. Perhaps you have considered attempting to get assistance from a counselor or therapist, but you have been concerned that they would condemn you or that they would not understand the struggles that the families of those on death row face, and that you would have to bear the burden of explaining and educating them instead of concentrating on your own need for support.

I am here to help and have been trained through the Texas After Violence Project and have experienced the incarceration of a loved one in my own life. If you are referred by Texas After Violence Project, please note I will consult with TAVP for educational purposes only. Just like any other therapy session, everything is confidential.
